My work is guided by a few core values: clarity, usefulness, and respect for users.

In Practice

• Performance & accessibility — Stories that work on weak connections and for all users and devices
• Maintainable systems — Clear documentation, sensible architecture, long-term thinking
• Analytics with restraint — I use events, funnels, and feedback loops to improve products without turning them into a surveillance project
• Collaborative — Work closely with product managers, designers, journalists, editors, and cross-functional teams

I’ve spent much of my career in journalism and mission-driven work, so I care about building things that inform, support, and respect people rather than extracting from them.

I’m drawn to organisations where engineering has direct, measurable impact on people’s lives. That usually leads me toward calm interfaces, light footprints, and technology people can trust.

I value curiosity, openness, and working with people who care deeply about their craft and its impact.
